A new type of BJJ School
Putney BJJ was founded in 2020 with the intention of creating a small, focused space to train, coach, and improve Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes, from novice to advanced.
Together with the existing competition team, Paul created a top-rated BJJ academy in Putney, South West London.
We offer world-class training in small groups and capped membership. Our experienced coaching team focuses on the individuals, either for personal improvement or competition readiness.

Personalised approach
With a small class focus and limited membership numbers, we follow a weekly structure in which each student is assigned a personal plan as part of the curriculum, taking into account their stage of learning, physiology, and goals.
This means that every member of Putney BJJ has a personalised training plan and support from our staff throughout their individually tailored Jiu-Jitsu journey.
This approach provides a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience as our students feel supported and empowered to achieve their unique goals with the guidance of our dedicated coaching team.
Style that fits you
Professor Paul teaches classic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, effective techniques that work for people of all sizes, and with real-life considerations.
A wide range of classes is available, from beginners through to competition and advanced. Each class, though, have a focus on improvement, detail and study.
There are numerous “open mat” sessions where members work on details, practise new techniques and put them together in live sparring.
It’s relaxed but professional, always looking for the next piece of the puzzle.
